Our People

There isn't a typical member of McDonald's staff. Our employees come from all walks of life. But whether you'd like to join us as a Crew member or a Trainee Business Manager, there are certain qualities you shouldn't leave the house without.

Trainee Business Managers

Above all, we value people with a positive attitude towards customers, themselves and other employees and who have high standards of personal performance. The ability to understand and adopt our customer-led culture is worth as much as any qualification. But then that goes for all our employees.

To join us as a Trainee Business Manager, you'll also need to be a logical thinker who can apply common sense as well as relevant background experience to different situations. Tenacious, energetic and hard working, you'll be the proud owner of what others call a 'good attitude'. You'll of course need to be decisive, but that should always be tempered with sensitivity.

As you're likely to end up managing a 60-strong staff, it goes without saying that you'll be a people-orientated team player with an overall pleasant demeanor and good sense of humour. And while we're not saying that you need to be an all-singing, all-dancing entertainer, your personality should lean towards the extrovert rather than introvert.

On top of all that, you’ll have either a degree or sound management experience which has afforded you good transferable skills.

Crew Members

Quite simply, our fast moving, high energy environment doesn’t suit everyone and we’re looking for a genuine smile plus an ability to connect with customers and make them feel valued.

To join us as a Crew Member you’ll also need to be confident in approaching and dealing with diverse groups of people. Friendly, courteous and helpful behaviour will come naturally to you and you’ll work well as part of a team. Effective communication skills such as attentive listening, face-to-face verbal communication and eye contact are a must. You’ll also need to understand the importance of maintaining high standards of quality and service as well as cleanliness. The ability to maintain high energy levels whilst working both efficiently and productively is essential. Finally, your appearance should be smart and clean.
